There is a close relationship between economic power and ostentation that runs through the entire history of the Venetian Republic and up to the present day. The façades of aristocratic palaces, made of precious marble and elaborate decorations, were often completed with cheaper materials on the inside. The opulence is only on the surface. This work is inspired by this approach, presenting itself as a fine animal fur, made, however, from one of the most humble materials: the inflorescences of the common ditch reed, collected from the lagoon surrounding the city.

C’è una stretta relazione fra potere economico ed ostentazione che percorre tutta la storia della Repubblica di Venezia ed arriva fino ai giorni nostri.
Le facciate dei palazzi aristocratici, realizzate con marmi pregiati e preziose decorazioni spesso venivano completati con materiali più economici all’interno. Lo sfarzo è solamente di facciata. Questo lavoro si ispira a questo approccio, presentandosi come una pelliccia di animale pregiata, realizzata tuttavia con uno dei materiali più umili: le inflorescenze della comune canna di fosso, raccolte nella laguna circostante alla città.
